Why Nielsen says tablets are not that big a deal yet

Apple’s numbers are greater than the household numbers because millions of iPad 1 owners lined up to buy iPad 2 on the first day it was released. And they’ll undoubtedly be in line to buy the iPad 3 the day it comes out.

Nielsen is not understating tablets. USA Today is overstating the impact of iPad. Yes, iPad is a success, but so was, say the Nintendo Wii, yet we don’t see a Nintendo headline in the Tech section almost every day.
